Prepare a chlorine solution using (1) one gallon of drinking-quality water and (3) three cups of common household bleach. Clorox or Purex are both examples of this type. As purchased in a retail store, they constitute a 5% Sodium Hypochlorite solution. To calculate how much solution to make, use (1) one gallon of solution for each (15) fifteen gallons of tank capacity. For example, for a 200 gallon tank, use 11.0 gallons of water and 2-1/2 gallons of common household bleach. This will create the required 13-1/2 gallons of solution. |
